22 June 2011 – Bouncing back from a slump since the financial crisis that hit 2008 and 2009, the overall industry statistics for direct selling as released recently by the Direct Selling Association of Singapore (DSAS) show a steady upward climb for the local direct selling industry, amidst revived consumer confidence and a recovering global economy.

Back in the year 2007, direct selling in Singapore posted a vibrant year with revenues at around S$470 million. When the global economic crisis hit in 2008 all the way through 2009, direct selling, like all other industries, witnessed a downtrend.

As the economy begins to bounce back, the combined revenues of direct selling companies in Singapore registered S$398 million in 2010. This is a gradual but steady increase from S$380 million in 2009, thus posting a growth of 4.65 %.
